Almost Summer

Today you could already sense the summer feeling ❤ Yes, a bit chilly but still.

The way the sun glimmered on the sea and the gulls shrieked was just so summery.

After the long, dark and cold winter it’s more than welcomed feeling.

Yep, so be it. And just how wonderful that is!

Winter View

Ever-changing. Always something new. I’ve seen this view at least a billion times and it never ceases to amaze me. It seizes my heart and soul. It captures something deep in me.

Even now, when thin mist creeps from the Archipelago sea and the view is very non-colourful, there is something amazing in it. The pulse of life is there, waiting for spring. Now not hibernating but facing the winter, snow, wind and ice. Knowing and accepting it.

How can I not but to love and admire such?

Amazing Winter Sunset

Sun was already setting when I was on my way to Lillan. Decided to take a detour since the view look promising. It was definitely worth it.

When I made my way to Lillan, the sunset was there at this very familiar place also stunning.

Even Lillan itself was painted by sunset.

And the interior, then. Did not want to put the lights on since the colours coming outside were just amazing.

All these pics are with #nofilter. Just as it was.

Took even a short video from the shore. I hope you’ll come soon to see yourself these wonderful views!

Dark at November?

Sure thing. The sun rises late and sets early. But when it shines, the light is totally extraordinaire.

There is a special sense of peace and calm. Nature is settled, preparing to face the winter.

I know many think November to be the lousiest month. But seeing light glimmer on the sea, beaming through the clouds, slowly and gently giving its gold, I see it only beautiful.

Not autumn anymore but not quite winter either, there is special kind of magic in November ❤

All Hallow’s Eve Preparations

Children have had so many Halloween parties! For me, and many especially older Finns, this day is a memorial day for those who have passed away. Candle lights, warm memories. Peace and quiet. But for children, it’s mostly trick or treat 🦇🍅

One night for full moon at Friday. Darn me not having my proper camera with me at Lillan!

Can you tell the difference between street lights and the moon?

Even drove to the harbour to try to get a better pic. Well, at least a bit different view.

This little picture gives a hint of the preparations for this weekend at Lillan. When everything is ready, I’ll tell more❤️

Star Gazing

I’ve already told you about possibility to see Northern Lights at Kimito Islands. They are always a bit luck dependent – you might see them or then you might not, mostly depending on the mood of the Sun and it’s activity.

But one thing that’s for sure are the stars. Not so common a thing to see in a big city or thickly populated country. But here, they are like every night, unless it’s very cloudy. Best to be seen when it’s darker season, that is autumn or winter.

You can just step outside from the door when the sun has gone down. But to make most of it, you can go to the beach. There, above the sea, there are no lights to disturb the perfect star gazing experience.

Do you want to see Milky Way? To spot your own Wish Upon a Star?

Welcome to stay at Lillan and take your own Star Tour!

Northern Lights

img_3764

It is a common misbelief that you can see Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) only above the polar circle.

They are everywhere. Obviously, closer to the poles you go more common they are since there the earth’s magnetic field does not protect us from these amazing particles as well.

Northern lights can be seen even at Kimito Islands, as these wonderful pictures show. They were taken in the evening on a island shore.

To see the Northern lights, the most important thing is darkness. Hence, they show well above the sea since there is even less light waste around. During nighttime, our islands are very dark, totally undisturbed by city lights, compared to most other areas in Europe.

Best time of year to see the Northern lights is when it’s darker. That is, autumn or winter. Welcome to stay at Lillan and witness the amazing, wonderful

Northern lights!

Autumn Arrived

Leaves are falling big time. Bright summer light is being replaced by soft autumn light.

Time to make autumn preparations also in Lillan. The bigger bedroom downstairs also gets its winter carpet on the floor.

The memento of previous autumns on the wall is now very seasonal.

The colours coming from outside are just amazing. Soft and warm despite the cold wind the sea brings.

Time for the hygge Lillan provides. Fireplace brings something very primitive feelings of safety. To cuddle up in warm blanket on the livingroom sofa and just to listen the little cracking and humming of the fire.

Autumn is definitely one of my favourite seasons ❤ How about yours?

All the pictures in this post are taken at November. From September to October autumn foliage is amazing. For November, the magical light surrounds everything. And by December there is often already a thin snow cover.
